Ericsson Research is now looking for a Scientist in Perception and Control for Cyber Physical Systems
 

Job Description
 
Ericsson Research is expanding the group working on Cyber Physical Systems and is looking for candidates with experience in sensor fusion, image processing, perception, and control. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your cutting-edge ideas, energy, enthusiasm and skill to revolutionize future connected devices and machines. The view on problem solving is holistic and you are used to think in terms of hardware and software, combined with technologies, to create systems and applications.
 
We use a variety of sensors together with modelling, estimation and control to develop distributed sensor and actuation systems. You, as the successful candidate for the role, will use your experience in developing software to implement algorithms and deepen your understanding of how it can impact the development of cyber physical systems. You are familiar with the latest development in methods and paradigms around estimation, perception, and control, and you can apply this to different types of device hardware architectures. You will work hands-on with coding as a central part of your daily work and be given the chance to implement demonstrations to show novelty, usefulness, and impact in concepts and demonstrations.
 
You will innovate and invent, evaluate performance, and take part in securing protection in IPRS. With all the knowledge and experience you gain the scope of the role may in time increase to include coaching and supervising others. You will be developing complex systems and applications for connected devices, working closely with a high skilled team on developing software tools and new ways of working.
 

Main Tasks
Develop solutions for connected devices, beyond smartphones
Innovate and secure protection in IPRs
Develop software components and integrate results in real systems
Participate in team activities on developing software tools and ways of working
Implement demonstrators to show novelty, usefulness, and impact of new technologies
Supervise and coach other researchers

 
Experience/Knowledge
Experienced MSc, PhD degree, or equivalent in Computer Science, Mechatronics,
Electrical Engineering, or Physics
Strong knowledge in ROS, and building real Cyber Physical Systems
Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently and in groups
Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge, apply it, and spread it to others
Excellent knowledge in computing software and experience in Python, C/C++ and others
Strong communication skills in written and spoken English and good presentation skills
Experience in using source code tools such as jira, GitLab, git-flow and others

 
Meritorious
Experience from participating in open source projects
Experience from device hardware/software development
Experience of innovation and secure protection in IPR´s
Signal processing and sensor fusion with an understanding of sensors and models.
Experience from agile development methods
