Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Do you believe in changing the world with data driven insights? Are you looking for a role where you can influence the design of tomorrow's connected, electrified and autonomous transport system?

Connected Intelligence is a group within Connected Systems at Scania R&D. In the context of connectivity, we innovate and deliver scalable analytics that enable informed decision making for product, service and business developers.

Assignment
We are now hiring code craftswomen and men that want to be a part of developing end-to-end analytics solutions in the context of 400 000+ connected Scania vehicles. We need to build visualisations and front end infrastructure for self-service solutions that democratize geospatial data and associated information with complex relations. The data is derived from massive amounts of GPS-positions that describe the global transport network.

Our aim is to work in cross functional teams that deliver repeatable and quality assured results through self-sustained analytics services. The competences in each team range from senior software development to data science. We work on a wide range of tasks, ranging from detective work in root cause analysis for field quality investigations, to flagship data science projects supporting the business development of automation an electrification with insights from our current fleet. Our motivation comes from working for a bigger picture and  collaboration, innovation and exploration are common drivers among your colleagues.

To take the next step in developing the visualisation framework that we will be a key component in democratizing insights from the data, we will strengthen the team with a full stack developer with a focus on front-end. You will have a great degree of freedom in forming the solutions and technology stack that will be applied, but typically we work in AWS and other front end developers at the department are skilled in JavaScript frameworks and Bootstrap.

Your profile
You have an academic degree in a computer science related field, or the equivalent work experience. In addition:

• In a situation of unclear demands you strive to understand the and deliver what is needed by finding short-term goals that take you closer one step at the time, and find the means to validate assumptions and continuously deliver value as you go along.
• You have understood that software development on some levels resembles a factory process where repetitive moments can be automated and that the degree of automation is a good (often the best) measure of the delivery. Continuous improvement of the development process is therefore a natural priority.
• You have experience of large scale front end development in some JavaScript framework, preferably Angular involving automation tool chains such as Gulp.

Experience from the areas data streaming, geospatial visualisations and/or cloud software development is meritorious.

Our offer
We offer a healthy and inspiring work place, with great respect for the individual, where you have many opportunities to shape your work and your future. Your personal and professional development is important and something we encourage and support.

In addition to personal and professional development opportunities, benefits  such as company car, mutual bonus, occupational pension, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, Scania Job Express.
