Job Summary:
We at Ericsson Packet Core, are currently looking for a software developer to work with one of Ericsson's industry-leading product that is a part of 4G and 5G-networks. We use Cloud Native technologies and tools to develop our 4G and 5G products on a container based micro-service architecture. To be able to utilize the cloud technology and build a product with cloud native attributes in the best possible way we need to strengthen our components development, which is used by network functions (NF) in the Cloud Packet Core system.
We stand at the forefront of Agile software development, using methods and principles like Lean and Scrum to create a product that excels. Early customer and stakeholder feedback are key elements in our development process which is based on Continuous Integration SW practices. We rely on team collective responsibility to complete all tasks according to a prioritized backlog.

Responsibilities & Tasks
Our teams are cross-functional, self-organizing and highly independent. You’ll be working directly with your Product Owner and stakeholders in a collaborative manner. This requires maturity and a ‘team first’ approach, which we believe is the best way to create great software. The team consists of 5-7 developers and are responsible for design, implement and test the feature, product and system from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
Our product, tools and infrastructure include high-performance application development, low latency requirements, multi-threaded/multi-process troubleshooting, and embedded system development in an environment with huge amounts of data.
Among other things, Unit/Component Test, Refactoring and Continuous Delivery are defining concepts and we are constantly improving our ways of working. We are not perfect and not afraid to say so. We are on a journey and we know we have many problems to solve and we need to learn new things on the way. We believe in trying new things that suits your team, e.g.:

Technologies we use
To understand our product, knowledge of modern web applications running in cloud native environments is essential. Most of our product code is written in JavaScript and Python. Full-stack development is key. Our applications run in cloud native environments with the help of tools such as Kubernetes, Docker and Helm. Test frameworks are using Jest, Puppeteer and Pytest. Active involvement in the open source community is a plus.
We are interested in candidates from a variety of backgrounds, with a keen understanding of cloud native web apps with a passion to learn and develop new skills. Experience in the telecom industry is welcomed. Here is a (non-exclusive) list of technologies that we currently use:
JavaScript, Python
Kubernetes, Docker, other cloud native tools
Linux development, working with high performance Linux application
GIT, Gerrit, Jenkins, GitLab
VS Code

Qualifications
MSc/BSc level in Computer Science or the equivalent level of knowledge
Data communication and networking (Cloud networking, Container networking, Private/Public Clouds)
Experience in agile software development practices
Fluent in English, written and verbal.
