At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

Join the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG), Operations and Experiment Liaison (OPS) section of the Scientific Computing (SC) group at CERN IT Department! This is a unique challenge as the next step in your career as Software Engineer. CERN, take part!

The WLCG is a global collaboration providing one of the largest infrastructures for scientific computing in the world. It provides computing and storage resources for the LHC experiments and consists of about 200 computing centres located all over the planet integrating also cloud and HPC resources.

The WLCG Operations and Experiment Liaison team coordinates WLCG operations and contributes to complex tasks such as infrastructure optimization and an effective infrastructure integration with the computing systems of the scientific user communities. Members of the team work closely with the science users and technology experts to ensure strong collaboration between the computing experts across user communities, WLCG project and CERN IT. WLCG is a highly dynamic environment in which frequently technical and coordination leadership roles arise. These offer the successful candidate career development opportunities in line with increased experience.
