Head of Engineering Consumer Business Solution

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our Consumer Business Solutions organisation, building a world class platform for subscription based consumer business.

Consumer Business is the largest revenue stream in Schibsted News Media, accounting for roughly 3,9 billion NOK yearly. Over the last decade, digital subscriptions have grown from pretty much nothing to a billion NOK business. To enable further digital growth and to optimize the print subscription business, we are upgrading all our publishers to one common tech stack for user revenue. We call it the User Revenue Suite.

In this role you will

- Lead an engineering organisation of around 15 people, currently organized into three teams.
- Enable leaders and teams to create a world-class platform for Schibsted to run its subscription business
- Collaborate tightly with Head of Product and UX lead to deliver on our mission
- You will work both with feature maturity of the platform and rolling it out to our publishers in Norway and Sweden
- Collaborate with our Consumer Business through our matrix organization.
- Lead a team of leaders
- Work in a distributed environment leading teams in Sweden, Poland and Norway.
- Report to our CTO and collaborate with other great engineering leaders. We take leadership seriously, and the team you will be part of finds it natural to collaborate, prioritise, support each other and challenge the status quo.
- Have an impact and grow as a leader.

About you:

- This is not your first management role - You have solid experience as an engineering leader. Everything from recruitment, performance enablement and tech strategy to organizational design come naturally to you.
- You have most likely been leading leaders before, but if you haven’t, you have worked in a role where you have had substantial responsibility that have made you ready for a new challenge.
- You thrive on learning. We have so many opportunities to learn here: From a world and an industry that is changing in a big way, from an organization that is evolving to respond to it, and from each other.
- You have experience of working in or with distributed teams, and know that it requires great communication skills and the ability to travel.
- You have a software development background and understand tech.
