Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What’s in it for you?
Would you like to become part of a team working within the future of Autonomous Drive & Active Safety? Would you like to enable the Volvo Vision Freedom to move in Personal, Sustainable and Safe way?

If so, we have the opportunity for you.

We are now looking for a motivated, curious and quality conscious team player with software programming skills to join our HIL (Hardware in the Loop) Team at Autonomous Drive & Active Safety.

What you’ll do
The purpose of our HIL is to stimulate the system and its components to make them believe they are in a real vehicle with all the relevant dynamics, and we have the responsibility to make that happen.

We offer you to work in a small cross functional team, with high focus on quality and continuous improvements. Together with your colleagues, you will define, set up and configure dSpace HIL environments supporting our current and future projects. You will be doing modeling work with Matlab, Simulink and you will be enabling HIL test automation, moving us towards “Continuous Integration”.

Together with us, you will grow your competence and get a broad understanding of Volvo Cars Vehicles and the Autonomous Drive & Active Safety domain. You will work closely with other groups at Volvo Cars, our suppliers and get the opportunity to create a wide network.

Do you fit the profile?
We know that you are a curious, problem solving person with and a True Team player mindset who works effectively together with others to achieve results. You are flexible and can handle multiple parallel tasks at the same time. You are driven, quality conscious and you are inspired by technical – and process related challenges.

You have a M.Sc or a B.Sc within Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or similar and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. You have knowledge in vehicle communication such as CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet as well as programming skills in Matlab or Python. Furthermore, you have previous experience in model development in Simulink and you are familiar of working according to Agile methods.

It is meritorious if you have previously working in HIL environments such as dSpace or Vector and knowledge in vehicle/traffic simulation.
Knowledge in integration of sensor technologies (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonic etc) is a big plus since that is what we work with, and we also greatly value experience from verification in vehicles at system or functional level or experience from test automation!

Finally, it would be great if you have knowledge from development of vehicle software within:

* Hybrid and/or electric vehicle development
* Active Safety
* Connected Vehicles
* Power Train
* Vehicle dynamics
* Brake
