Role & Responsibilities

  • Participate in architectural work related to allowing our engine to execute on Linux.
  • Guide the development team in selecting the right solutions for how we use the Linux operating system in regards to threading and memory management.
  • Identify performance optimizations in how our highly multi-threaded Engine uses the operating system and act on them to implement improvements.
  • Research new requirements to understand options, scope, and risk and to formulate and propose appropriate options.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that deliverables meet requirements.
  • Meet project milestones in an iterative and incremental development process.
  • Communicate with engineering management and team leaders on task prioritization, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Work effectively with other development team members on all aspects of the process including design, implementation, testing, and documentation.

  • Master degree in Computer Science (or similar)
  • At least 5 years of working experience of C++
  • At least 5 years of working experience in thread handling/scheduling and memory management in Linux user space. Experience from porting of applications desirable.
  • Experience using agile software development methods like SCRUM or Kanban is required
