Modelling & Simulation engineer to LHD application at Epiroc
Are you interested in developing the next generation of underground automation products? We are strengthening our LHD application group with developers specialized in modeling and simulation. This is an important area for our development of control systems and autonomous solutions for our Scooptrams and Minetrucks. Now, we are in the process of taking simulation and modeling to the next level which includes machine models with simulated sensor data and I/O:s as well as environmental simulation.

Our different teams have deep knowledge within the area of automation and machine control, such as localization, navigation, path planning, driver assistant functions as well as tele-remote solutions. The majority of our SW development takes place in agile teams with modern C ++ development and automated testing in Python. We continuously strive to improve team performance to increase our efficiency by challenging ourselves and our processes. With better machine models and the ability to verify different environments at an early stage, we can shorten our lead times. Hence, Modeling and Simulation are an important tool for us to make our test and verification process more efficient.

Your mission
Your overall assignment as a developer in Modeling and Simulation within the LHD Application group is to drive our simulation work forward based on the roadmap to be defined together with our stakeholders. You will work on developing machine models for different products, as well as to simulate different scenarios based on the customer requests we receive. Part of your mission is to develop the way of working with simulation so that it becomes a natural part of our development work, where we use the strengths to streamline our functional development. Another important task is to lead the evaluation of which tool best meets our requirements in order to fulfill our thoughts and ideas around modeling and simulation. In your role you will work close with all developers and specialists within the group, but also be a driving force towards our stakeholders to take simulation to the next level. 
Your profile
You hold a Master of Science in relevant area or have similar experience. To succeed in this position you have experience in Matlab/Simulink, are curious and interested in software development for machine control of manually operated and autonomous products. You are passionate about creating high quality solutions, have an interest in big yellow machines and like to work in an international environment with close contacts with end customers. We see it as meritorious if you have experience from modelling and simulations, knowledge in software development, knowledge about our automation system or similar system. Experience of C++, Linux, Jira, Git and/or Bitbucket is also meritorious.
