Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Digitalisation and electrification are crusial parts of the transformation; Scania’s future success relies on flexible and effective IT solutions that enables current and future business requirements.

We are now expanding the teams working with diagnostic communication to the vehicle and are looking for a new team members for our awesome teams.

About the organization

The group (EPIC) consist of 11 people working in two teams with support functions for the electrical system in Scania vehicles and responsible for various data chains across the whole product.

The teams deliveables are an important part of many development projects at Scania, since we implement the functionality to perform software updates in the electrical system, enables diagnostic communication, uploading of operational data and configuration of the vehicle.

The electrical system is growing both in size and complexity and the information surrounding the systems are constantly getting more and more digitized. The teams are focusing both on challenges and needs right now in parallel with long term focus aligned with the technical roadmap for Scania.

We are working in agile teams scaled to synchronize our releases, aiming for the same vision and having a lot of fun.

About the teams

Two teams works with the diagnostic communication- and flash modules. The modules are developed close to the R&D department together with tight collaboration with service markets and worshops using this functionality.

The teams are responsible for the backend and lower level parts of diagnostic communication of all ECUs in all vehicles produced by Scania.

We also have big challenges ahead designing a new component for communication over the air and are new techniques like cloud based development using AWS.

Your work

You will work with software testing and development using C++/CLI, XML, Git or Perforce on Windows. You will also be involved in several technical discussions in a wide network from product, research and development to workshops and after care of the vehicle.

As a team member you will be responsible for developing the components used for diagnostic communication and software updates, and also some of the infrastructure around it. Even if a full stack developer profile is not required it is beneficial to have an understanding of things like AWS, Elasticsearch/Kibana, .NET Core and embedded programming.

Your profile

• You have a curious mindset and want to learn more about developing and improving the electrical system for a Scania vehicle
• You are a system- and software developer and tester, preferably C++, .NET or experience from similar languages like Java, C#, C
• You have proven experience in Object Oriented Programming
• You have interest in electronics and hands-on handling of hardware on your desk as well as in vehicles is beneficial
• Good communication skills and able to independently find information

• You are comfortable to work cross functional and have the ability to understand how details fit in the bigger picture
• You might have knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, OBDII, CAN, UDS/KWP (a merit but not required)
• You have knowledge and experience of working in an agile environment
• You have good knowledge in Swedish and English
