What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Our portfolio includes for example Display Systems, Mission and Graphics Computers with applications such as Maps and Recording and Reconnaissance systems. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for Gripen and for two of the world’s largest commercial aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing. Avionics Systems has over 300 employees. 
Common Engineering is responsible for engineering competence and resources in a variety of areas, Software, Electronics and PLD, Test Equipment and Qualification, Team management, Customer Support and ILS. Common Engineering is responsible for the Centre of Excellence Computers, Video and Graphics. 
The section Projects and Customer Support within the Common Engineering is looking for a Team Leader for software development with placement in Järfälla.

Your role
As a Team Leader your main task will be to manage a multi-project team in software development. Other tasks to participate in are winning business activities, marketing of our competence and solutions within the Saab group and establishment of technology plans and future roadmaps for software components.
You will manage a team of 6-8 skilled engineers to fulfil requirements, time schedule and cost for each project. The work package for the team is typically a graphic or video application. The development follow the airborne standard RTCA-178C with level varying from D to A. The software is coded in C or ADA towards the belonging hardware,  AMD GPU and PowerPC.  A number of support tools are used within the area requirement engineering, configuration management and model based design.
The team leadership includes daily planning, economic and progress follow up, technical decisions, and to give input to personnel and competence planning. The work will, besides the team, be performed in close collaboration with line managers and project managers. You will report to the project managers and your line manager.
Your future challenge
You must have experience in software development and have ability to build commitment and energy in the team. Your main task is to technically lead and distribute the work within the team. You should keep and increase the performance of the team.
You are interested in embedded software development, but you don´t need to be an expert. Instead, all team members and surrounding engineers’ knowledge must be used to achieve the best solution.
In the future, your team may be multi-discipline and comprise System, SW, HW and PLD.

Your skills and experience
You have a Master degree or equivalent with emphasis on embedded systems.
You have updated knowledge and experience from software development for embedded system with preferrably on some of the application areas as Video management, Graphics software e.g. OpenGL, Maps, Recording and Image Processing.
This position involves working with Swedish defence classified information and therefore requires Swedish citizenship.
