Senior Software Developer

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.

Our group is a part of Sales & Service IT delivery and supporting the areas for Warranty and Parts Pricing. In the portfolio, we have over ten applications with a mix of bought systems and developed at Scania. In line with our strategy at Scania we have started our journey towards modern technology such as AWS, API, etc. We are today 12 people in the group and will now expand with a senior developer to be able to make this journey. We have support from lead solutions architects, cloud network team as well as other teams at Scania that has already done this transformation.
 
We are now in the start-up of transforming our current Oracle-based system for warranty claims into a Cloud-based solution. In the new solution, we will use Java as the language for developing microservices and moderns technology for integration such as API and Kafka. You will be an important part of this work and will bring important knowledge to our team.
 
Your responsibilities
You will be part of our development team that works tightly with our business. Today we have very good knowledge in the team regarding the current Oracle-based Warranty application that also needs to be maintained during the period that we develop the new system. Your knowledge and experience from new technology will be important for us in the transition to a new system.
 
Your profile
We believe that you are a senior developer with more than 5 years of well-documented experience from Java, AWS, API-design. It is valuable to us if you already have been into a journey of migrating a monolithic system to a microservice cloud environment.
 
You are a communicating person who likes to share your knowledge and also teach others. With your experience, you can support the team and take lead in our joint mission to succeed with the challenges ahead. You have an agile mindset and can communicate in both English and Swedish. To succeed in this role, you have strong stakeholder management skills and want to understand the business we support.
