Romanian native speaking Senior Web Developer

We are now looking to strengthen our web development team in Stockholm with a senior web developer that has native Romanian language skills. A crucial part in this role will be to help alaTest management set up and manage near-shore tech operations in Romania.

Our web team is responsible for developing a suite of modular review solutions (API?s, widgets and portals) for retailers, brands and consumers worldwide as well as alaTest websites for our international visitors. Our vision is to deliver highly available, scalable & high performing services.

Responsibilities:
* Assist management in the setting up of near-shore tech operations in Romania
*Main contact liaison person for future Romanian tech team
*Develop clean and modern code using web frameworks (such as jQuery, Kohana, Pylons or similar)
*Work directly with other Developers, Designers and Product Owners to ensure your code works and looks as designed and specified
*Stay abreast of the latest technologies with a view to introducing new development techniques and tools that improve alaTest practices

Requirements:
*A Master?s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
*5+ years experience with web application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, MySQL or Solr
*Experience in working with Start-ups, ideally with Team Management
*A genuine passion for the web, new technologies & open source software
*Must be authorized to work in Sweden

Desirable Skills:
*Cloud computing (Amazon WS, Rackspace or similar)
*System administration (Linux servers, Proxmox, Varnish and similar)

Personal Skills:
*Driven & result oriented
*Native Romanian skills
*Excellent English skills. Our company language is English. Swedish language skills are not required
*Experience working in an international & distributed team

The position is located in our HQ in central Stockholm.
Frequent travel within Eastern Europe, in particular to Romania, may be required.

The alaTest tech team works with various state-of-the-art technologies to provide unique global review solutions. We collect review data from thousands of international review websites & magazines, develop and maintain data-flow and ETL processes to load and structure data, use machine learning and natural language processing to analyze the millions of reviews and deliver the content to our clients via REST APIs and feeds. We have a heterogeneous platform developed in Python and Java using open source software and a combination of battle-hardened solutions like MySQL and Solr as well as asynchronous web technologies like Tornado/Cyclone.

We are working with agile techniques including Kanban and continuous improvement in order to make sure that the products we develop reach the market as fast as possible while maintaining the quality excellence we need.

You should be comfortable with and interested in shared ownership of code, agile development, open source technologies, etc. You have interest in both development of data delivery solutions and database development and administration.
