The Interconnect & Service Middleware Sector within Product Development Unit Compute & Digital Silicon provides basic services such as upgrade, backup and restore, license management, configuration and fault management for RBS and radio applications for embedded and cloud solutions with focus on 4G, 5G, and future standards.

Service Middleware (SMW) is undergoing great evolution due to the introduction of a 4G and 5G Cloud Based Architecture as well as middleware services for a cloud native application (middleware services that are self-contained). There is an ongoing shift to a Service Based Architecture for SMW with cloud virtualizations, containers, Orchestration, adaptations to ETSI and Open Source initiatives and with solutions that support massive scalability.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a talented software developer and you can be a senior developer already or a newly graduated engineer aspiring to become one. You will either join the SMW Continuous Integration (CI) team which is responsible for integrating and delivering SMW (the control system of the Radio Base Station) to the RBS node level integration. The team works both on cloud and embedded solutions and is also responsible for integrating new hardware types and adding them into the SMW legacy test suites. You can also join the SMW CI and Build Support team which is responsible for the SMW build and CI environment. Continuous deliveries, continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing are part of the daily work in both teams. Test automation is a key when working with Continuous Integration.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Troubleshooting when the legacy tests suites find faults related to the software deliveries to SMW
• Adding test cases and general improvement of the SMW legacy scope
• Delivery of SMW to Node CI
• SMW integration of new HW types
• Drive Continuous Improvements in CI environment for embedded and cloud solutions, legacy tests and WoW
• Maintenance and improvements in the SMW build and CI environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Programming skills. Erlang and Java knowledge is a plus.
• Linux knowledge
• Ability to handle several work tasks at the same time
• Knowledge in build systems is a plus
• Knowledge in cloud infrastructure such as Open stack and Kubernetes

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

• Master of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
• Fluent in English in conversation and writing
