Tens of millions of small businesses worldwide are still being underserved by the traditional players. By giving small businesses the tools to get paid, sell smarter and grow, we’re empowering them to reach their full potential. Together with PayPal, we can reach 24 million merchants across the world with more of the affordable tools they need to thrive. Join us in putting an end to the ordinary way the world defines financial freedom.

We are looking for a Web Developer to join our Customer team. You will be part of this autonomous cross-functional team and together we will enable merchants from all around the world to grow their businesses and succeed in a world of giants!

The Customer team helps our merchants give their customers seamless shopping experience and reasons to return! Specifically we are working on alternative payment features such as gift cards, invoices and payment links. In the future, the team will focus on customer loyalty features.

Go where the people speak your language

You'll be in close contact with the design in order to create a tailored user experience to our merchants, as well as backend and mobile developers, developing a robust end to end solution catered to our user's needs. It's important that you have a basic understanding of API design and how to consume them, but don't worry, the team will be there to help you out.

You'll have the ability to architect your modules, at the same time as being able to consume global components from our library and tokens from our design system. You will be able to collaborate with other teams and web developers across the whole web chapter, by code reviews, bouncing back ideas or mob programming (we're big fans!).

Your responsibilities will include

  • Design, implement, debug and maintain services with a high degree of autonomy
  • Work on interesting problems together with talented peers in cross-functional agile teams
  • Experiment and learn about design, technology and processes

The skills you need to succeed

  • Javascript, HTML and CSS.
  • TypeScript and Ruby. The latter is something we’re moving away from, but we still have some code in Ruby.
  • Frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux, GraphQL, RxJS, Ramda and Express.

Small minds never helped small businesses

It takes originality and an open mind to start a small business. That’s why small minds have no place in ours. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and together we uphold PayPal’s One Team Behavior, striving to be a place where everyone can benefit from equal access to professional development and bring their whole self to work.

Bring your talent to our attention

Go on, hit apply and say hello!

We're a purpose-driven company whose beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day. We hold ourselves to our One Team Behaviors which demand that we hold the highest ethical standards, to empower an open and diverse workplace, and strive to treat everyone who is touched by our business with dignity and respect. Our employees challenge the status quo, ask questions, and find solutions. We want to break down barriers to financial empowerment. Join us as we change the way the world defines financial freedom.
