We’re looking for an experienced UX Leader to join our Design department and lead the team defining vehicle experiences. This will be someone who has mastered the craft of managing and directing designers and researchers towards creating delightful experiences. Who can inspire organisations through storytelling and their team with thoughtful critique. And who is forever championing the user through investments in research and insights.

What we’re looking for:

* Management & leadership. You have practical management experience with designers in agile product development environment, and you are able to foster and grow the culture in cross-functional teams through advocacy.
* Collaborative. You are a team player and have deep history working with Product Managers, Developers, and Researchers, Business Partner teams as well as guiding your teams to work collaboratively with partners.
* Curious. You have a working understanding of how to discover unmet customer needs, create a shared hypothesis, prototype features and test the adoption of a paid service as a business model.

What you’ll do
You will be responsible for leading a team of 50+ user experience professionals focused on delivering outstanding experiences to our growing user base. Alongside your product and engineering counterparts, you will be responsible for leading a product area. This includes customer facing experiences on both digital and non-digital car interfaces. Work with partner teams team to deliver projects in a timely manner that meet product and design goals.
You’ll provide thought leadership to develop the right product strategy and share and communicate the product direction and strategy across the organization.
Build and shape a multi-disciplinary team to be highly performant and highly collaborative. Guide the teams to work with a human-centered mindset, being informed through the work of our research, analytics and insight teams.

Who you are
You have 9+ years leading design teams with a variety of crafts (visual, interaction, information architecture, writing, research, etc.) at product organisations. You have experience in leading product strategies and managing teams that create product solutions that mix software and hardware. You are a player/coach leader with practical design skills. You’ve shipped many consumer products over the years, and understand what it takes to create awesome, consumer-oriented experiences. You’re a fantastic communicator. You have the communication skills to help you work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, You shine most at motivating others to carry forward and execute a strategy without needing to be in the room. You are familiar and comfortable working within and contributing to large design systems that you may or may not own directly, balancing the needs of the larger design ecosystem with the local goals of your product area.
