Front-End Engineer - Digital Health

Our beautiful campus in Gothenburg is one of AstraZeneca's three strategic science centers. The site is home to over 2,600 employees, from 50 different nationalities. R&D IT is an outstanding organization at the forefront of the technology revolution in healthcare. We're applying technologies such as AI, machine learning, software and data engineering and analytics to provide critical insights. We are now bringing more and more of software engineering & development inhouse and engage with our internal and external partners as a strategic partner in delivering life-changing medicines to our patients.

What you'll do

Working with cutting-edge technologies in a high-performing team, you will work with exciting Digital Health initiatives. The team is growing, considered full-stack and you will play a meaningful role with your front-end expertise building web portals and mobile apps. You are an experienced programmer and always strive for creating quality products and apps. The products for this role consist of a wide range of components where we are harmonizing both backend and frontend solutions into a service catalogue of solutions. This is a combination of COTS and bespoke parts. Connected devices and SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) will be a crucial part of the solutions. Your responsibilities include:

* Crafting and programming advanced software solutions, with emphasis on Front-End
* Building user-friendly JavaScript/CSS applications
* Participating in full software development life cycle with modern JavaScript coding, testing, debugging and automation techniques
* Defining and adhering to software engineering & platform engineering practices
* Contributing as a technology advisor identifying Information Technology systems implications and providing recommendations to support business objectives

Essential for the role

* Degree in computer science, software development or computer engineering
* Strong experience in JavaScript
* Experience with modern Javascript frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular
* Passion for writing clean and testable code
* Good understanding of RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD, agile process

Desirable

* Experience working on large JavaScript projects
* Experience leading teams of other developers
* Experience from native app development for iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java)
* Good understanding of UX and accessibility
* Experience with performance optimization, backend languages & tools and cloud platforms
