What we do at Detectify
Hackers are our allies - that probably isn’t something you would hear everyday but at Detectify, this is our approach to Internet security. Built on knowledge crowdsourced from our network of over 200 ethical hackers, Detectify offers a web application security scanner that automates hacker attacks, and finds vulnerabilities, to help businesses stay safe. Our founders and Detectify Crowdsource hackers are among the best ethical hackers in the world - having hacked tech giants such as Google, Facebook, or Dropbox - and aim to share their findings with the rest of the world in order to make the Internet a safer place.
In November 2019, Detectify secured 21 million EUR in a Series B round to continue building teams with world-class talent. We are looking for passionate and driven colleagues to hop onboard, contribute to the company culture and to make the Internet more secure.
The Scanning Engines Team
The Scanning Engines team is responsible for delivering vulnerability tests for our users, and all related activities, such as network discovery, web crawling and technology fingerprinting. The team aims to provide the best possible scanning execution with accurate port scanning and fingerprinting, comprehensive web crawling and broad vulnerability detection.
The team develops and operates a number of components written in Go, .NET, and Java with a set of different technologies, such as:
- AWS products (RDS, S3, EC2, CloudFront, Route53).
In addition, various web technologies (CDP, AXFR, Certificate Transparency, DMARC, CORS, DNSSEC, etc.) are utilized to gather the required information.
Today the team consists of 5 developers but is continuously growing. The team follows agile and DevOps practices, such as test automation, continuous deployment, application monitoring, and is keen on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
What you'll get to do
You will develop and operate both new and existing services to further improve our scanning engines. You will also have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with the team, as well as coach/mentor other developers. You will be part of a self-managed team and be involved in all stages of the development lifecycle. As a developer in the team, you will get to:
- Design, develop and operate services to make our product better.
- Work with other teams and stakeholders to deliver great business value.
- Be part of a great environment with awesome colleagues and world-class white hat hackers.
Who you are
You set and achieve your own ambitious goals and like to solve complicated technical problems with a team full of creative problem solvers. You think it is meaningful to continuously evaluate and reflect on your own solutions, and seek outside recommendations to improve.
You come from a background where you are used to working with load-heavy backend applications and worked with microservices, data streaming, and message queues, or even network technologies.
You have experience in either Go, Java or .NET development. Even better if you previously had experience with developing and scaling SaaS products
So, what do you think?
We are proud to foster an inclusive workplace free from discrimination. We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better environment for our employees and a better product. This is something we value deeply and we encourage everyone to be a part of changing the way the world thinks about security! Go hack yourself!
