What do we do?
Volvo Cars is growing and facing an interesting future in the electrification of Vehicles. If you want to utilize state of the art methods to test and verify next generation electrified luxury cars, the role as our new Software developer within test automation is the role for you to prosper!

You will be a part of one of three Agile Hardware in the loop (HIL) development teams working within the electrification area. The teams consist of around 15 very competent members from all over the world.

We deliver the HIL test environment for the engineering departments within the electrification area. Our solution is used by testers for Electrical Drive Systems (Electric machines and Inverters), Traction Battery Systems, as well as Power Supply and Charging Systems for electrified vehicles.

Our long term vision is to automatically run tons of tests on a cloud-based simulated test environment

What you’ll do
Within our HIL framework team, you will develop tools, methods and environment to enable automated ECU software testing in a HIL environment for testers.
We currently use dSpace AutomationDesk, a graphical tool for designing test sequences that uses Python code to perform operations. Python enables us to integrate with large number of different test equipment’s and tools.

You and your skills
You posses a Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent and have an excellent programming skill in language such as Python. Fundamental software development practices such as unit testing and version control are part of your daily workflow. You will also need experience working with continuous integration tools.

You are an efficient team player, with great communication skills and genuine interest for easing testers’ daily work. You have an analytical approach and enjoy problem-solving. Further you are engaged, with the ability to drive change and implementation, with a passion for automated testing.

Experience from some of below would also be considered meritorious:
* Software testing and validation
* Experience with HIL systems and real-time simulation
* Experience in working and scripting for databases specially SQL
* dSpace Automation desk
* Robot Framework or similar tools
* Serial communication protocol such as CAN
* Control units in vehicle electrical system
* Tools within automotive testing as Inca or Canalyzer
