About Gompute

Gompute is one of the world’s leading HPC Cloud platforms. HPC Cloud Platform? You wonder… , simple, it’s a platform built to handle large scale scientific, technical and business applications which need massive scaling and depend on technologies like parallel file systems, high speed/low latency interconnects and other technologies typically common only to a supercomputer center!
Now, we didn’t stop with just building our HPC Cloud service using our platform, we made sure our platform can be used in private data centers to build private clouds in-house, helping companies centralize their computing, accessing computing resources from all over the globe!

The Gompute HPC Cloud Tools team is looking for someone to help support our users who are developing their own innovative products using our HPC Cloud Platform. The team works very closely with the core development team and is responsible for making sure our cloud platform is used to its maximum potential by our users.

This is a highly challenging and dynamic role, you could be involved in any of the following on a given day:

1. Performance testing of our yet unreleased Products.
2. Working with a user and identifying why their parallel MPI job crashes after running for a few hours.
3. Giving feedback to the development team from customer support experience.
4. Getting your hands dirty with yet to be released versions of our software products and providing feedback on how they could be improved before our users get their hands on it.
5. Implementing a HPC workflow involving multiple applications and multiple parallel computations.
6. Working with partners and making sure their applications run smoothly on Gompute.
7. Assisting our Helpdesk with expert knowledge of our HPC Cloud Platform.
8. Things which we haven’t yet encountered!

Skills/Qualifications we think you need

1. Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science.
2. Feel at home with Linux, specifically enterprise distributions like RHEL/SLES etc…
3. Excellent Linux scripting skills preferably with BASH and Python.
4. Network troubleshooting and general debugging skills.
5. Not afraid to whip out a script which talks to a REST service.
6. Open to periodically being on-call outside normal work hours.
7. Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
8. Looking forward to learn, use and develop innovative technologies.

Skills/Qualifications which would help
1. Knowledge of container solutions like Docker and LXC.
2. Knowledge of operating Cassandra or other similar NoSQL systems.
3. Knowledge of distributed resource managers like Slurm, Grid Engine or LSF is an advantage.
4. Knowledge of management systems like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt etc. is advantageous.
