YOU WILL

As a Technical Writer you are responsible for providing up-to-date, accurate, and easy-to-use technical documentation of Toyota´s automation offering. Target groups include the international sales organization, deployment engineers, support staff, customers, and partners. 

You will work autonomously, aligning with release schedules. You are expected to develop a broad network throughout the organization to funnel information on changes, new developments, and best practices. Perceptiveness, social skills and a service-oriented mindset are essential skills. Changes to software and hardware are frequent and you must be comfortable with rapidly evolving products as well as a fluid and distributed organization. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Responsible for the continuous management and improvement of technical documentation for automation software and hardware.
• Writing original articles for new features, products and updates.
• Organizing the documentation database, enabling free-text search, simple navigation etc.
• Supporting and coordinating other writers.
• Maintaining direct communication with readers on comment fields and by email.
• Aligning company terminology.
• Supporting role in UX, by managing UI text and translations.
• Administration of the publication platform in terms of layout (CSS), user permissions, processes, etc.

YOU ARE

You have at least three years experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in industrial automation, or neighboring fields such as automotive, logistics or telecom. Your educational background can be either within technical writing or broadly in technology.

You are fluent in English, spoken as well as written and you enjoy composing precise, fluent and useful texts. You master the concept of topic-based writing (DITA or similar), and you are comfortable in a fully web-based setting.

You are social, open-minded and self-motivated. You are aware of the needs of various reader groups and you are always willing to listen and help.
