Android Developer

We are now looking for an Android Developer to join our professional team of Software Engineers. As one of our skilled IT consultants you will be interacting both with your TCS colleagues as well as the customer on a daily basis. Your main workplace will be at client’s offices in Stockholm, where you will work closely together with your TCS team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Android Developer, you will be responsible for handling deliverables as well as driving requirements, analyzing and proposing the best solution to the customer. You will lead the development of Android applications and be responsible for requirement walkthrough with all stakeholders. Also, you will be responsible for security and performance considerations of the application. Furthermore, you will be in charge of peer review of the code in the development and implementation of CI/CD pipeline.

YOUR PROFILE

You are a developer with at least 7 years of designing and building applications for the Android platform. Your technological skills are mainly within Kotlin and Java-Android as you will be developing Android applications using Kotlin. Good communication skills in Swedish & English – both written and verbal – is required to be able to seamlessly communicate with our Swedish customers. Being a global company, with a global workforce, we expect you to be open-minded and interested in cultural differences. Furthermore, we believe you have strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills to drive change. As we are using Agile methodology, you are expected to have hands-on experience working in Agile.

To succeed in the role, you should have:

• Familiarity with RESTful API integrations with backend
• Knowledge in Android Architecture components like LiveData, Room, ViewModel etc. as well as Unit Test and UI automation frameworks
• Experience in Hybrid Application development
• Strong OO software design/architecture skills and knowledge of the software development lifecycle
• Knowledge in CI/CD implementation using Jenkins or VSTS as well as bit bucket knowledge
• Strong understanding of Android Human interface guidelines and the play store app submission process
• Strong understanding of the patterns and practices that resolve around the Android platform
• Experience using MVC, MVVM, and Java design patterns
• Experience in Swedish Banking application

Additional skills/Good-to-have:

• Experience working on latest trends in the digital space to develop industry-based use cases/applications typically in wearable computing like Android wearable
• Knowledge and insights in banking industry with a customer base in Europe and India
• Knowledge in quality assurance of software implementation
• Skills in gathering functional and non-functional requirement and development
• Knowledge in waterfall and Agile mode of software implementation
• Knowledge in Google analytics, Crashlytics, FCM, Google APis, Adobe Analytics, etc.
