Earthbanc is the world's first green digital banking* & investment platform, with a high yield Grow Bond. Our Grow Bond product yielded 6% APR in 2019* to select professional investors. Every $100 invested sequestered 2 tonnes of carbon through nature based solutions.

We are providing an aggregation service and enabling market linkages to sell the carbon and other produce to local and international markets. We are creating a platform which lets individuals and businesses invest in sequestering carbon, restoring land degradation, and work towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Artificial intelligence plays an important role in Earthbanc’s operation. We would employ AI to improve carbon verification and monitoring. We are developing our own carbon verification methodology using AI that makes the process efficient and affordable to help more people participate in forest protection and regeneration. We are looking for someone to take part in this exciting venture and to lead with expertise.

As the Head of Artificial Intelligence you will:

• Develop a dynamic model to improve carbon verification and monitor forest biometrics.
• Lead the entire process of model development. The work would include everything from data collection and feature engineering to training, validating and implementing machine learning models, computing performance statistics and live model monitoring.
• Collaborate with colleagues to find novel and smart techniques to improve existing models, make better models and finally better predictions.
• Be innovative, cooperative, collaborative, open and have a flexible mindset with critical thinking.
• Be an innovative individual who works well in a team, and who has a flexible and open mindset.
• Contribute towards regenerating the planet, supporting communities, enabling local producers, and empowering microfinance organisations to expand.

In order to be successful in this role we believe that you will have:

• A relevant university degree in a quantitative discipline (such as computer science, electronics, etc).
• Experience within machine learning and remote sensing applications.
• Expertise in data analysis and visualization using Python.
• Fluency in writing SQL queries.
• Experience in data-driven modeling (unsupervised learning, random forest, SVM, CNN, etc.)
• Expertise in deep learning frameworks, like TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
• To collaborate with the team to run experiments, including designing and evaluating new algorithms as well as implementing known algorithms.
• Passion towards AI and its implementation towards climate change.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

It’s great if you also have:

• Experience within Geographical Information Systems.
• Experience working within research using machine learning and deep learning.
• Experience within open source ML platform tools (GitHub, Google, etc).
• A will to invest time to improve knowledge.
