Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Connectivity at Scania is one of the key components in Scania’s “driving the shift” strategy. At Connected Systems (EC) we work with the enabling solutions with a span from the vehicle, via Telecom networks to the Scania service platform in the cloud. 

Scania today have over 500000 vehicles and other products connected. The section ECP, Connected Systems Platform, is now looking for an (AWS) developer in the IOT Gateway Offboard Team. Applications like autonomous vehicles have new requirements for latency, bandwidth and QoS that drives the need to evolve the connectivity link between vehicle and cloud.

What you will do 
You will contribute to develop a central and prioritized part of the connectivity platform, the connection between vehicle and cloud. This is used by all connected services at Scania, therefore quality is really important. You will be part of all the team activities such as systemizations and coding as well as documentation and test. There is an opportunity to work all the way from vehicle with embedded Linux to AWS with .NET Core but focus is cloud.

Scania has an own protocol for this communication, this enables efficient communication. To be able to handle new requirements this protocol have to be updated for better performance.The role can be customized according to your interests, abilities and what you want to learn. 

Who you are 
We are looking for an experienced developer with good communication- and social skills. You like to see the bigger picture and you enjoy sharing your view with others. You have a genuine interest in technology, software and programming. Knowledge in the areas of IoT/Connectivity/Telecom is a great advantage for this role. As a person you are driven and takes responsibility.
