PDU Radio

Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson’s radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Development Unit Networks (DNEW), of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson’s strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G. In mid-2019 PDU Radio launched an organizational and operational transformation to facilitate the gradual, but rapid change from radio boxes to functions and modular architectures.

Continuous Integration and Infrastructure (CI&I) department at Common Radio Modules (CRM) leads the development of the Radio Software continuous integration framework. The department is responsible for global CI & Infrastructure strategy and governance. It consists of sub-units with teams working in several areas like Software Lab, Test Framework, Build and Automation, Machine Learning and Analytics and Configuration Management.

Our vision is to build highly empowered and self-organized teams applying Agile/Lean ways of working in line with the DU functional framework.


Our Exciting Opening

We are looking for an experienced SW developer interested to work with the production product (CI machine) that enables our Radio SW product to be the best in class.

You will be a member of a team with responsibility to develop the CI machinery and test position setup for Radio SW development including internal developed tools. The role reports into Manager RA CRM CII Radio SW Lab.


The role will include

  • development, automation and maintenance of the production product and CI.
  • requirement analysis, software design, integration, verification
  • operational support of the existing tools.

If you are interested in HW development, you can also work with development of the electronic test system itself including PCB design and component selection. A typical example is development of SW for an Arduino and the integration of this SW in a test box that includes this controller.

We develop the CI machine for future radio products, scan the market for new solutions, optimize for good efficiency and support the product development engineers to develop world class products. Come join us and be the one who did it!


To be successful in the role you must have

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent
  • Programming skills in Python, Java, Javascript, C, C++, Ruby
  • Database, (Elasticsearch, SQL)
  • Eiffel & Kafka
  • Linux
  • Embedded Software
  • Lean and Agile knowledge and skills
  • Extensive analytical and troubleshooting skills in SW, IP Network, virtual servers or Radio.
  • Knowledge about Radio RF technology and instruments

As for soft skills we believe that you are service minded and enjoys networking and working with people. You are willing to broaden your competence and get a deeper understanding of our products. You are a motivated and upbeat teammate who like challenges in order to improve yourself and the team.

Your social skills are needed in interaction and communication with our developers and other development organizations as we constantly seek better solutions and recommendations to future products.
