What we offer
Connected Experience unit within R&D includes Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications and Data & Diagnostics. Our vision and strategy are to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using a Volvo, make all cars connected and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars. The ART Connectivity Platform within the Department Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform is responsible for delivering Global Connectivity as a service – E2E including HW, SW and Mobile Network Services. The platform we provide is the prerequisite for all connected applications and services within the vehicle.

What you´ll do 
Your purpose as a developer with verification focus is, together with your colleagues in your agile team, to provide stepwise (business) value to the larger solutions/systems (via the Agile Release Train - ART). As a Developer with wireless verification focus You will validate different wireless technologies in our products such as 4G, 5G, V2X, BLE and WiFi in lab and real car. You will also be responsible for writing test analysis, specifications and reports. In the company we are striving towards test automation so that will be included in your work.

As an extra challenge in this role You will have the opportunity to be in the frontline within wireless technology development as we expect you to patriciate in and contribute to internal and external research projects. For example, to enhance existing and develop new verification methodologies.

The product purpose is to connect Volvo Cars in all markets using several different technologies so that we can provide services based on this connectivity. The product act within the ecosystem of the car, other cars, roadside infrastructure, consumer mobile devices and the mobile network operators.

Do you fit the profile?
For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe that you are a developer with test and verification experience, and you will enjoy using it as we implement new technologies and enhance the existing. You embrace teamwork, collaboration and are eager to learn and develop new competences. Experience from working in telecom (preferable UE focus) or other wireless industry is a clear advantage to succeed in this role.

We see that you have a BSc degree or higher in software, electronics or telecommunication engineering, or equivalent experience, in addition you’ll need a couple years of experience and competence within the following tech;

•    Cellular technologies 4G, 5G, V2X
•    BLE, WiFi and UWB
•    Understanding of physical and access layer of the above technologies
•    Network simulators, spectrum analyzer, and/or field logging tools
•    Antenna principles
•    TCP/IP protocols
•    Matlab/Python/C++
•    Valid driving license “B”
•    Methodologies: Scrum, SAFe, Test Driven Development
