The role
We are now seeking several Senior System Administrators to our Application team within TechOps/Service Operations. The current global team consists of 6 Senior System Administrators and one senior DBA assuring 24/7 application and database run-time of our online gaming application platforms.
The department is responsible for software deployment, monitoring, operations design and third line application support.
The Senior System Administrator has system knowledge in both Online Gaming software and hardware, including databases. These technologies are used to achieve the highest possible availability of the systems and databases that we run. The surveillance of live systems, digging down in advanced incidents and attending internal projects will all be a part of your daily duties. You must be used to take initiatives and have the ability to prioritize and bring to a successful conclusion the assignments that come your way. We hope you have a senior background, like the one mentioned above because that is what we need in our team right now.
Must haves include:
- A good understanding of MSSQL and/or MySQL operations and architecture.
- At least 5 years' documented experience of System Administration in Linux and/or Windows, focusing on application management.
- Pro-active experience of monitoring and maintenance of critical applications are two key factors.
- Previous experience of administering open source applications and COTS products combining the best of breed in order to deliver services and meeting SLA.
- Automation & Scripting - analytic skills and programming knowledge with at least one script (Bash, Python, Perl, PHP, Java, PowerShell...).

- Good understanding of disciplines, processes, and procedures of working in a transaction-intensive environment.
- Experience from working according to ITIL processes is strongly qualifying.
- Good knowledge of practice methodologies.
