SW Architect / Senior SW developer Infotainment Platform

Within the department Driver Interaction & Infotainment we are responsible for the entire infotainment system. We work with the latest technology in order to reach the future characteristics and requirements in a very exciting field. We have high ambitions in SW development and a lot to achieve for that we need great, passionate and knowledgeable colleagues ready to engage in ambitious group work and build the most adaptive and competitive infotainment platform in the automotive industry.
As a SW Architect/Senior SW developer you will be highly involved in architectural discussions and planning. This position will give you a broad contact network and possibility to influence the technical development and way of working, among other ways in your work with our stakeholders. You will be evaluating architectural properties such as flexibility, maintainability and extensibility making sure the platform is able to grow in the direction of the roadmap. You will also be resonsible to discuss non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, availability and security. You will be responsible to help the stakeholders to find an architecture that fulfils non-functional requirements as well as challenge them when needed. Quality assurance is also a large part of an architect's role, not only code reviews, but also introducing standards and working practices. As an architect you will engage in discussions about how to implement new and innovative ideas in the Volvo Car Group infotainment platform ensuring the development of a highly adaptive and cost optimal infotainment platform.

* Architectural discussions within infotainment area
* SW development within feature teams in the different domains
* Requirement analysis
* Estimations of SW development effort
* Over time "a go to person"/expert for certain area of the SW
* Supplier contact and the companies voice in collaborative SW development project
* Drive changes within SW development
Required qualifications:
Within the infotainment area Volvo is expanding capabilities in SW development, SW architecture and orchestration of SW development. Please profile yourself and your career within the area below so we can set a team with broad relevant experience.
* M.Sc in Electrical and/or Software engineering
* More than 5 years experience from working in the field of SW Architecture, SW Development, requirement handling within electrical and/or software projects (C++, C)
* Experience from Embedded Linux Development (ie YOCTO)
* Service oriented -and component based architecture
* Object oriented design
* Software product line architecture and variants management
* Experience from working in an international environment
* Experience from working in a highly networked organisation developing SW and architecture together with suppliers
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driver's license (B-level)
* Knowledge within following areas is valuable: Connectivity technologies like Bluetooth stacks, WiFi, Voice base UI, integration of voice recognition, Qt, QML, SW validation and integration, Linux kernel drivers, USB Tools for efficient SW management

* Communicative and a great team player, you need to explain your ideas about the SW architecture and be responsive to your colleagues challenges and ideas as well as bridging between management and technical staff
