Senior Service Architect - Connected Car IT

Connected Car IT is one of the main focus areas at Volvo Cars and delivering the next generation of connected vehicles and services is essential in order for Volvo Cars to be the world´s most progressive and desired premium car brand. Volvo Cars Connected Car IT contains new development, establishment of new services and maintenance of existing services. It has a high level of complexity including coordination with other IT services and business functions. Connected Car includes solutions for Sensus Connect, Volvo On Call, Connected Safety, Lifetime Mapcare, Roam Delivery, Autonomous Driving and more.
As a Senior Service Architect - Connected Car IT you will be the overarching person with a holistic view of the total solution. You will participate in both very early phases of car project research and in the operation of the ongoing service to ensure that the total solution for Connected Car IT is sound and working. You will work together with skilled architects from the different areas within connected car and be lead in securing a good solution for Connected Car IT Services.
Main responsibilities
* Define and designs service architecture in support of service strategy (e.g. service design, transition, and operations)
* Ensure overall integrity of the service architecture and maintain a strategic view of the architecture to meet the needs of Connected Car IT Service.
* Create the architecture strategy for supporting services and applications in the service
* Work with the other Architects to develop strategies for use of new technologies or patterns within existing and future IT applications and/or services
* Secure that the (SW) security design for the Connected Car IT is up-to-date to handle the exposure for the system
Required qualifications
* Master´s degree within engineering, IT or similar
* More than 5 years of experience as solution architect, business architect, enterprise architect, information architect or integration architect
* Excellent analytical and contextualization skills in the area of Architecture with ability to see the big picture while defining the individual elements
* Excellent knowledge of mobile (car and telecom) solutions and understanding the aspects of infrastructure, applications and data management
* Extensive knowledge in system integration, networks, web and cloud technology
* Good understanding of the software development life-cycle, software development frameworks, and the integration of security at the different phases of development
* Self-directed and organised: has a structured and analytical way of taking on tasks and performing on a daily basis in a result oriented way
* Fluent in English

* Excellent communication skills; the ability to convey ideas in written form and the capability to share those ideas verbally in a clear, concise manner to both technical specialists and people without technical knowledge
* Good collaboration and relational skills; comfortable working with and leading other skilled professionals in project teams towards common goals
* Flexible and adaptable: the ability to accept, promote and drive change and implementation and lead way in the organisation for new perspectives
* Self-directed and organised: has a structured and analytical way of taking on tasks and performing on a daily basis in a result oriented way
