Long story short
SVT is the Swedish national public television broadcaster. Their vision is to contribute to a more inquisitive and informed Sweden. The DataOps team
You will be part of the department Production and Technology, which is an organization delivering SVT:s online services together with SVTi. The DataOps team sits in between eight SVT Play teams, five news teams, two children's teams, and an AI-team. The team also works closely with the analytics and publishing departments.
Consisting of developers, data engineers, data scientists, and analysts, the team builds secure, scalable data infrastructure and services for the whole organization. The team is supporting analysis as well as personalization and other data-focused solutions while encouraging an experiment-driven approach to explore new areas in the data domain. Backend services are written in Go and Python, Tableau, BigQuery and Airflow for analytics while the platform is built on Google Cloud.
They are at the beginning of a data-driven journey where you will be a part of developing new solutions in an environment where teams are truly autonomous and given the freedom to choose how to work and with what tools. Kindness, helping each other, and having time for learning are important so they try to mob program now and then. They also have a 10% free hack time or learning time for those who want. The missing link
To feel comfortable in this role, you are probably an experienced Backend Developer with a great interest in data. You are familiar with at least one imperative programming language such as Java, Python, or Go with an interest in data science and machine learning. As a person, you are curious, team-oriented, and enjoy solving problems together with your colleagues.
A couple of things that would be helpful but is not mandatory are skills in SQL, streaming/real-time processing, data processing, and/or data security/privacy.
