We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

We are looking for a Verification engineer with a passion for test automation for our cross-functional team.

About us
We are a system team, working with test environments for the complete electrical system, within 94600 Software and Electrical Platform integration and release. We design and deliver a test environment, Hardware In the Loop (HIL), that supports all engineering departments. Typically, when we design and setup the test environment, we also verify the HW that we connect in an agile way of working. The more HW we integrate the more SW we can verify in our environment. We are now looking for skilled people to join us in creating these test cases to verify SW in our Continuous Integration flow.

What´s in it for you
Do you want to work with the big picture but still have the opportunity to dive into the details?
We are a newly formed team of young people with high commitment and forward spirit. Our dSPACE HILs starts when the first ECU delivers to the project. In early phases, there are only a few ECUs and less functionality but as the project matures, our HILs grow. In order for our HILs to be suitable for testing, we develop tool chains for test automation and analyse results. Our test environments are used for software tests on complete vehicle level.

The purpose of HILs is to stimulate the system and its components to believe they are in a real vehicle with all their dynamics. This done by simulating environmental models made in Simulink that executes in real time in the HIL. We develop test cases to verify the SW in Python or CAPL. We work on continuous improvements regarding test automation, modelling development in Simulink and fault tracing of HW and SW. Together with your colleagues, you will especially work with further development of the HIL concept to enable test automation and Continuous Integration. As a software test developer of our HIL rigs, you will gain a broad understanding of Volvo Cars vehicle systems and electrical functions. You will also cooperate with other groups at Volvo and our suppliers while building a broad network.

You and your skills
You possess at least Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent and have experience of test automation. You are proficient in Python and preferably experienced working with CANalyzer and CAPL. We believe you have good communication skills and ability to collaborate with different stakeholders. We believe you enjoy great teamwork, are proactive, creative, driven, and willing to share knowledge and take responsibility.
