Web Developer (Node.js/Scala)

QUAD is a small company in the media and ad tech industry based in Stockholm. Our mission is to make it easier to work with ad production, ad serving and measuring of digital ad campaigns.

The team currently consists of six people, three being developers, one a designer and two management/sales.

We are now looking to add a skillful Web Developer to the team.

What you will be doing

As Web Developer at QUAD you will be developing and testing high quality code together with the rest of the team and the CTO. You will be focusing on building the backend of our web application, creating a robust and efficient solution capable of handling heavy traffic (1M+ transactions per second) by using Node.js and Scala.

You will get the opportunity to change the way the industry works with digital advertising and find solutions to problems that has never before been solved.

We think that you:
- Have a firm understanding of OOP and functional programming plus you also know how to mix it
- Have experience in building efficient and scalable backend solutions for web environments using Scala, Python, Golang, Node.js, Java or similar
- Know what clean code is and why there should only be clean code
- Understand common design patterns (such as MV*)
- Are comfortable in UNIX-based systems such as Linux or OS X
- Understand when, why and how to use SQL and NoSQL
- Know why and how server side testing should be done
- Have experience of DVCS such as Git
- Are fluent in English and Swedish, both oral and written

We prefer if you:
- Are passionate about machine learning and Big Data
- Are experienced in NGINX or similar technologies
- Are experienced with TDD and/or BDD
- Know how to secure Linux servers
- Understand how to use task runners such as Grunt or Gulp
- Understand how to be Agile when developing new features
- Have a Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or similar
