Job Description

"Feedback is at the heart of any software delivery process. The best way to improve feedback is to make the feedback cycles short and the results visible." Jez Humble / David Farley

In this role, you will contribute with expertise on continuous delivery and in particular software metrics to projects developing instrument clusters for cars. You will also help the business unit to harmonize the software KPI and metrics landscape. This will result in a straight-forward overview on project status and progress and enable the organization to take data-based decisions, e.g. identify priority work-packages and rate them against each other, and balance between agile release trains.

Typical responsibilities include the architecture and the data model for the metrics solution, the automation of the data import from the primary systems used by the projects (e.g. Jenkins, Git/Gerrit, DOORS, etc.) to Splunk, and the optimization of the performance and the UX of the metrics solution.

Another side to this role is fostering modern software culture in the company, e.g. by community work to encourage exchange of knowledge and sharing of existing solutions for metrics.

Qualifications

The responsibilities described above require expertise in databases and data modelling. You have documented experience from working with systems that collect, manage and visualize software metrics. Preferably, you have deep knowledge of Splunk. You are fluent in Git and have profound scripting skills, ideally in Python. In previous assignments, you have used Jenkins a lot to automate jobs and RESTful APIs to connect systems.

As a person, you are open minded, have an agile mindset and are eager to learn and also share your own experiences with others. We expect you to be self-sufficient and structured. You thrive in a changing environment and have constructive strategies to handle uncertainties and volatility. Good communication skills are essential, positive experience from working in distributed teams is beneficial.
