Saab Kockums Automation & Simulation is a part of a unit developing, combat, sensor and automation systems for surface ships and submarines. These systems are the heart of the ship and with high demand on availability. We work in the forefront of technology with systems essential to the safe operation of our ships.

Your role

In this role you get an opportunity to work in complex projects developing software for future submarines and surface ships. As a software developer you with be working on simulation of ship systems and development of training systems for the crews. You will have opportunities to work on cutting edge technology in the areas of simulation, system integration, and secure communication. Your contribution will increase the efficiency of our ships, combat systems and crew members.

The main tasks are:

* Development of simulation software in C#
* Contribute to the design of software systems
* Developing and documenting system design
* Taking part of developing a complete system solution hardware, including OS-setup and IT-security

Your profile

We are looking for you who have the ability to easily get acquainted with new things. You are a person who enjoys collaborating with others and is happy to share your knowledge and learn from others.

Required skills:

* Bachelor degree in computer science or similar university education
* Minimum a few years of experience from software development
* Excellent coding skills
* Good knowledge in .NET framework and C#
* Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written

Desired skills:

* Azure DevOps and Git
* Development of simulation services
* Knowledge from Unit test frameworks
* Knowledge from communication protocols
* Experience from Matlab and Simulink
* Writing UI applications with java script

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

What you will be a part of

In this role you till be part the Automation and Simulation team. We are 10 experienced software developers with broad competence who love to explore new technology. You will have the opportunity to develop advanced simulations for solutions for submarines and weapons systems. The team also develop software for trainings systems enabling ship crews to better perform their missions.
