Web developer

DESCRIPTION

Guides2rent is what the name says: a platform where people can rent the services of tourist guides. We started a few months ago and we decided to start locally, in Stockholm. We are looking for a WEB DEVELOPER to join our team for an internship.

You’ll have the opportunity to implement your ideas about how such a platform should look, both the look and the functionality, as well as the code behind it.

Requirements:

–   Web design experience

–   HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript development

–   Good knowledge of various platforms and browsers and their rendering capabilities

–   Experience with responsive design

–   Proven knowledge of PHP5

–   Knowledge of database design and implementation (MySQL)

–   Experience with websites deployment and maintenance

–   Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken)

–   Experience with Source Management solutions (SVN, CVS or others)

Highly beneficial:

–           Experience with WordPress customizations (as a developer)

–           Knowledge of Angular.js, Node.js, Dojo or jQuery

–           Experience with Google APIs (for example Google Maps, Calendar API)

–           Experience with cloud platforms.

–           Proactive attitude

–           Ability to learn fast

–           Motivation to work and contribute to the development of a new platform.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are two young entrepreneurs that moved to Stockholm from different parts of Europe. After successfully starting some businesses in Germany and Eastern Europe we are here in Stockholm to develop something really cool.

We believe the way people travel can be substantially improved. “Time is money”, as they say, and we think everyone can use their travelling time much more efficiently – part of this is renting the tourist guide you need. Of course, you can take a public tour, but that one doesn’t always match your interests, knowledge, or available time, neither does it offer much opportunities for asking questions and getting details on specific topics. Alternatively, you can go to the local tourist office and ask for the services of a travel guide, but also here you are not guaranteed to find the one you need, that can provide the activities you’d mainly be interested in doing . Here is where we come into the game! How we do it? Not hard to guess, but we’d like to share more details with people that are really interested  in working with us.
