To support a growing product and organization, we are now looking for a Data Analyst / Quantitative UX Researcher (qUXR) to help us fight climate change with code. Our product development is divided into cross-functional teams, each autonomously owning and maintaining an area of the product. They work to define and deliver end-to-end features that help our customers manage their renewable portfolios in a constantly changing and growing energy market.

At Greenbyte, we care deeply about our users. As QUXR, your primary role is to help inform the team of UXers, product managers, and engineers about user needs. You’ll play a critical role in shaping useful, usable, and engaging products through exploring and visualizing data to drive our hypothesis generation by delivering insights about our users. As the first qUXR at Greenbyte, you will be key in establishing appropriate tooling and processes to enable scalability of the product and organization.

Expectations & Tasks

- Develop code and statistical models to understand user experience.
- Define and measure quantitative UX goals and metrics in collaboration with Designers, Qualitative Researchers, Data Scientists, Engineers and Product Managers.
- Examine existing data and product designs to generate hypotheses and plans for high-impact research.
- Attend strategy meetings to collect questions that need answering with data and present findings.
- Conduct general research to confirm (or challenge) team hypotheses.
- Assist product teams in generating hypotheses and defining target outcomes for product improvement.
- Assist the product teams with ad-hoc analysis and recommendations.
- Attend information gathering sessions with customers and prospects.
- Provide meaningful usage data to the Customer Success Team to arm them for Quarterly Business Review meetings with customers.
- Prioritize and drive research to improve user experience. Communicate findings to stakeholders in the company. Make research findings convincing and actionable for both research experts and non-experts.

Who are you?

You naturally think about problems from the user's point of view, and you are motivated primarily to improve products for users.

You have "consulting" skills to turn business questions into research questions. You enjoy developing research strategies for unexplored problems. You think deeply about reliability, validity, and reproducibility.

You are good at many different things – from programming to a variety of statistical methods – and feel rewarded by solving applied problems.

You actually enjoy programming and statistical modeling. You are demonstrably excellent at them relative to an "average" researcher.

You enjoy tackling new problems on a regular basis, requiring different skills and/or methods from project to project.

You want to help teams to build products. Your research goes beyond basic science to directly influence product design and business strategy.

- 5 years of relevant work experience within User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, applied research setting, and/or product research and development.
- Proficiency in programming computational and statistical algorithms for large data sets.
- Excellent command of research questions within a given domain, and of technical tools for the analysis of data within that field.
