AstaZero, a joint venture between RISE, Research Institutes of Sweden (ri.

se) and Chalmers University of Technology (Chalmers.se), is a non-profit world-leading high-tech test center for research and development within active safety, connected and automated transport. The test center has a unique capacity with its own proving ground and digital environments that create the opportunity to conduct, support and accelerate research and development in the transport sector. Your role
You will be an important part of our R&D department, where we develop solutions that ensure the reliability of the transport system in terms of road safety in the future. By participating in research projects together with industry and academia, you contribute to the technologies that shape tomorrow's safe and secure transport systems and infrastructure. Your focus will be on the development of hardware, methods and systems that will enable more advanced testing in our test environments at the proving ground. The goal is to help increase the ability, both short-term and long-term, regarding verification testing at AstaZero. You will be part of a growing team working in both our own development projects and research projects together with several different companies. In your role at AstaZero, you will focus on projects or parts of projects that need hands-on, practical skills by building, prototyping and testing hardware to solve problems or tasks. It’s useful to be creative and comfortable with experimenting to achieve a satisfying result through trial and error, e.g. Developing challenging sensor testing environments, as well as prototype testing equipment. An organized way of working with structure and good documentation will be beneficial both for you and for the rest of the organization. You will work independently, while maintaining a close dialogue in the team, which follows an agile approach. Your work is mainly done at the development office at Lindholmen Science Park, but a lot of activities will also take place on our proving ground outside Borås.

Who are you?
You are driven by curiosity and you like new challenges. It is important that you are self-motivated, able to take initiatives and have you own drive. Taking the initiative and pursuing new ideas comes naturally for you.

- You have either a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. degree preferably in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering or similar.
- You have working experience with one or more CAD-tools such as AutoDesk, CATIA or FreeCAD.
- You are fluent in Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
- Driving license B is a requirement. The position is based in Gothenburg, but you will also spend working time at our proving ground.
- Skills in programming using for example Python, Matlab or C++ is highly valuable.
- Working experience in lab environments preferably within automotive industry and experience with constructing product prototypes is a merit.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal characteristics.
