Your role

The main role is software development of embedded safety-critical real-time operating systems and device drivers. You will be involved in team cooperation to develop safety-critical software for high-tech and complex military products such as existing and future fighter aircrafts.

The main tasks are:

*

Software development, including design, coding, debugging and problem solving
*

Verification of software on function and system level
*

Requirement analysis
*

Integration and validation of software entities and functions
*

Participating in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing
*

Staying abreast of new technology/technical areas and actively share competencies
*

Participating in planning and follow-up meetings on a weekly basis and report progress of ongoing work

Your profile

The work is a team effort and the followings skills are required:

*

Master of Science degree in Computer Science or similar
*

Understanding of the software/hardware interaction in embedded systems
*

Good ability to work independently or together in a team
*

Good ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex software problems
*

Genuine interest in learning new things and developing skills
*

Good communication skills in English, verbal and written

Desired skills:

*

1-2 years experience of embedded software development is meritorious
*

Want to work with both software design and verification, and have the ability to write technical documentation.

Good knowledge within the following topics are of advantage:

*

Low-level device drivers
*

Run-time systems
*

Low-level programming (C and assembly language)
*

ARM and PowerPC processors
*

Operating Systems in general
*

Real-time Operating Systems and/or Real-time systems
*

Is driven, open minded, committed to and want to spread lessons learned to others in the team.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Aeronautics is an innovative supplier of world-class aircraft systems and is engaged in research, development and production of military aircraft systems. It also conducts studies as preparation for future manned and unmanned aircraft systems as well as further development of existing products.

Within Aeronautics there are several Business Units, where you will be a part of Aeronautical Solutions. The Business Unit consists of the departments Aircraft Engineering, Future Programs, General Engineering and Engineering Services. Aeronautical Solutions is responsible for the execution of Future Combat Air System, Design and airworthiness for Special Mission Aircrafts and to find and exploit new business and collaboration with other parties within Saab and externally, based on knowledge and potential within Aeronautics. Today we are approx. 130 employees with the majority situated in Linköping.

You will belong to department Engineering Services that support Aeronautics long term capability within strategic competence areas and capitalize on Aeronautics existing competence, capability and solutions.
