A glimpse of what you would get here

Part of the Seller Lifecycle Alliance, Risk Engineering makes sure that Zettle’s sellers are verified, both at onboarding and continuously during their time with us. All to help small businesses get easy access to our products, whilst making sure the bad ones are not let in.

Together with a bright and self-reliant group of people, you'll work with a wide range of technologies to solve real and difficult problems. Here you'll do it all, seek and understand requirements, coding, testing, setting up the right infrastructure, managing databases and monitoring systems in production.

As if that is not enough, you'll get a lot of insight into the world of Fintech, working closely with various stakeholders from different parts of the organization, people that know the nitty gritty details of risk management, compliance, and user needs. Everything required to build market specific user flows for onboarding new sellers and making sure existing ones can provide us with the information we need to stay in business.

The skills you need to succeed

As mentioned above, in our team everyone is a Developer, Tester, DevOps, and DBA. In other words, apart from developing, we set up and maintain our own infrastructure (AWS) while managing our databases and taking care of the testing.

With this in mind and while not being exhaustive, we think that the following would greatly help:

  • Skilled in Java 8+ using application frameworks such as Dropwizard or Spring Boot
  • Proficient at test automation, unit tests as well as integration tests
  • Know how to setup, manage, and use relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • At ease with infrastructure as code, preferably using Terraform
  • Experienced in deploying containers to a Cloud environment
  • Comfortable with source code version controlled in Git

The key traits you need to exceed

Apart from the technical skills, we see you as a:

  • Great communicator both with your peers within in the team as well as externally, with stake holders and other teams
  • Team player who likes to pair and mob program as we rarely work alone and believe in developing great solutions by working closely together
  • Person willing to gain new domain knowledge and understand problems before they have been refined to concrete tasks
  • Groundbreaker with the drive to contribute in improving our way of working and tech stack by trying out new technologies

Last but not least, we all believe that having a life outside of work is a must have. While we love developing amazing stuff, we also love hanging out with our families, rowing, gardening, flying drones, playing arcade games etc. It's a key factor of our success and we make it possible by always supporting each other.

Earn extra points if you...

  • Have experience in working with no-SQL databases such as Amazon DynamoDB
  • Enjoy Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Know how to develop frontends using React

Does this sound like you?

If yes, we’d love to hear from you and take things further! Go on, hit apply and let's #talk!
