As you can imagine, keeping track of over 1 000 000 connected customer assets rolling around the world is indeed a challenge. Now ponder, that vehicles in a few years will be autonomous – and you’ve got the challenge of your life. Our Technology team manages the development and maintenance of our global connectivity platform – and your experience is needed.

We are now looking for an Application Operation Specialist within the Messsaging team.

The Messaging team supports the delivery of telematics services through application operation of our platform to a number of internal brands. The responsibility includes the messaging services e. g. Active MQ which is being used for our internal customers. This means to deploy, design, optimize, operate and monitor our components and services.

A member of the messaging team would also be part of the on call team. This means being available 24/7 according to schedule to take calls when there is an emergency involving the messaging services such as queue buildup.

The role

As an Application Operation Specialist you will be part of a global organization which delivers Telematics solutions to our stakeholders and customers. Important elements of the position are understanding operations and development both in a cloud based environment and in a classic “on premises” environment. Equally important is the understanding of Telematics and communication over mobile networks. We expect you to have the ability to troubleshoot in a complex operational environment involving multiple partners or suppliers, and to have the attitude “we are ready only when the customer is satisfied”.

Your profile

Mandatory competencies:

• Great UNIX or Linux (preferably RHEL) knowledge
• Ansible experience
• Experience with JAVA platform operations and/or development
• AWS Cloud environment experience
• Good understanding of messaging system like JBoss AMQ, WMQ

Complementary competencies:

• Script programming (Bash, Python)
• Troubleshooting server applications, web servers and Linux systems
• Understanding data communication (e.g. Firewall, Load balancers, Telecom etc.)
