What will you do?

As a software engineer you will work with design and development of software with main focus on the application software for controlling our Phadia Instruments. You will have strong focus on development of web interfaces. The software team is responsible for several PC and Webb software products, which are used for running Phadia Systems and for the world-wide support of instruments. In this role you would mainly work in a combined C#/.NET and HTML 5 environment using Microsoft's latest development environments and tools.

You will be working with specifications, design and testing of software and instrument functions, through the entire product life cycle from new products to support and improvement of existing products.

In practice, this means that you will work with:

  • Development of specifications based on customer requirements
  • Design work in close collaboration with UX Designers
  • Design, implement and test software, mainly web interfaces
  • Participate in the verification work
  • Participate in design reviews and change management
  • Participate in and drive new ways of working, including introducing new technologies
  • Working with risk management and handling of complaints in accordance with our quality management system
  • Be responsible for writing and updating technical documentation
  • Participate in product maintenance and 3rd line support to our customers worldwide

How will you get there?

We are looking for a person with a higher education degree or Master of Science in computer engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics or similar, with at least five years of work experience in the development of instruments and software.

We develop software for diagnostic systems under regulatory requirements, so you need to have solid personal integrity and awareness of the importance of documentation, rules and procedures that need to be addressed.

As an experienced web engineer (HTML5) you would have experience in some framework like Angular, React or similar. Experience in C#, .NET would be a very strong merit as it is likely that we will work with new techniques such as Blazor. Experience in UI/UX would also be a strong merit, as work will be done closely together with our usability team. Experience of mobile app development is a plus as well.

Thermo Fisher Scientific is a global company, so it is important that you feel comfortable in an international and changing work environment. Fluent English skills are a requirement for this position.
