Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Within the Sustainable Transport Solutions effort, the Autonomous Systems Development section (EAD) leads the work on developing Scania’s on-board software stack for autonomous driving within industrial confined areas. The group EADD - Vehicle Behaviour is responsible for several modules onboard the autonomous vehicle; Degradation management, Mission handling, Situational awareness and V2X application. We have a great challenge ahead of us and our group, section and department as a whole is an important part of Scania’s shift towards sustainable transport solutions!

Assignment

You will work as a system developer in an agile team with focus on Degradation management and Situational awareness. Degradation management is about how to handle reported system failures when there is no driver to take control. Situational awareness is a field where we analyse and predict the autonomous vehicles surroundings.

The vision for the group is to bridge the needs between Sense & Act, making sure it all fits together.

As a member in the team you will work close together with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and the rest of the team members to take on the shared responsibility for our modules. We work T-shaped and handle requirements, coding and tests. Everyone is expected to continuously improve our product and process. The team also contributes to the component roadmaps as well as the overall roadmap for the agile release train (ART) we are a part of.

Our main coding language is C++ and we use scrum in an scaled agile framework.

Your profile

You have several years of experience with C++ in scaled agile development. You are comfortable with driving architectural discussions as well as taking lead in optimizing modules and module structures while creating clean code. You prefer to work in a team, sharing responsibility, offering and accepting help when needed. We believe in strong teams and put pride in succeeding together!

You also enjoy the challenge to breakdown and analyse stakeholder requests to bring customer value into our product.

As a person you are open minded and good at listening but at the same time willing to speak your opinion. You are communicative and have a focus on quality. If needed you do not hesitate to coordinate and drive the work with other teams in the ART.

We expect that you have a master’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent. Experience from working with a complex product is meritorious.

Good knowledge of English in speech and writing is required.

If you are interested and feel that you have a fair share of what is mentioned above, do apply!
