We believe that when we all work together phenomenal things happen. At Ericsson in Sweden, we are a unit of 24 highly talented Thermal Designers who support the whole of Ericsson with our expertise. We collaborate with our Thermal colleagues at other R&D Centres both in Beijing, Chengdu, Ottawa and Sweden.

We are now hiring Thermal Designers for our team in Kista, Stockholm. Depending on applicants we will take on 1 or 2 persons with at least 5+ years of relevant work experience.

We are looking for two different profiles, one with simulation and scripting experience and one technical project leader who will be responsible for handling our climate product releases and work closely both with our suppliers and with other technical subject areas within Ericsson.

You will

• Work closely with other thermal designers, both in Kista and globally

• Drive, foster and participate in a learning, innovative and creative culture

• Encourage collaboration between our teams and other teams both inhouse and globally

• Perform troubleshooting and customer support when needed

• Support creative development by applying analysis and testing of complex electronic assemblies, using both advanced simulations and measurements

• Analyse and present numerical and experimental results for our stakeholders

• Employ simulation tools like Flotherm, Flotherm XT, Icepak AEDT and Fluent

• Be responsible for your own development as well as the whole team

• Work closely with our suppliers using our Black Box method way of working

• Secure high-quality products and deliver on time following our black-box process

• Lead continuous improvements of tools and processes to improve efficiency

• Be responsible for project planning of Climate product introduction from pre-study to the execution phase and hand-over to maintenance

• Perform and analyse verification tests of our thermal products in our labs

• Manage Lessons Learned and feedback findings to line organization and within Thermal Design

• Report to the Line Manager Business Area Networks

To be successful in the role you must have

• At least 5+ years of experience in thermal design simulations, lab measurements and design verification

• Knowledge of the ICT industry in general and the Telecom Industry in particular

• M. Sc. or PhD. Level education in a relevant technical field or the equivalent level of knowledge

• Strong leadership and coaching skills in line with Ericsson core values, Respect, Perseverance and Professionalism

• Willingness to work in various teams and have a genuine interest in supporting others for the greater good

• Interest and a good understanding of R&D and the concepts of Lean and Agile ways of working

• High level of flexibility, and openness to change and to tackle different tasks

• Good communication skills, proficiency in spoken and written English

• Good understanding of the HW design and development process

• Skills in building CFD Models with the appropriate simplifications representing reality

• Good programming skills, preferably Python

• Ability to work across different cultures to find ways of working and identify the best approach for change when needed

• Ability to drive complex work independently to get things done and deliver results on time

• Collaboration approach and willingness to work with others to achieve results

• Eagerness to inspire others to surpass expectations

• Capability of taking fact-based timely and courageous decisions without letting prestige get in the way

• Accountability – taking full responsibility for own and team’s actions and performance
