As Data Engineer at SEB in Stockholm, you build large-scale Big Data solutions, streaming and processing data to our Data Lake. Making data accessible is central to our business and solutions, and our work enables the delivery of our digital services to our customers. With us you make this possible, working with our modern Big Data tech stack and the Accounts and Payments data that is at the core of our business.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As Data Engineer at SEB in Stockholm you develop and maintain complex Big Data solutions and data pipelines, enabling efficient and qualitative analyses and reporting of large-scale transactional data. You belong to a team of competent and highly motivated Data Engineers, and together you solve complex problems, processing and streaming data from various sources into our Data Lake. Your competence and expertise are trusted to make big-picture decisions and given creative leeway.

Our tech stack consists of Java, Spring Boot and Scala. We use Hadoop for storing and processing data and Apache solutions such as Airflow for workflow management. We also use Apache Kafka, Spark and Hive for large-scale data processing, streaming and storage. Our architecture is microservice- and container-based and you will work with Kubernetes and OpenShift.

Your team
You will work within Accounts and Payments in Stockholm, belonging to a team of 5 Data Engineers dedicated to the Analytics and Reporting platform. With us, ideas and initiatives are always welcome and we share our knowledge among each other. We have different levels of experience in the team, and as an adept colleague, you teach and guide your co-workers with your experience. We belong to the Cash Management area, consisting of 350 colleagues across SEB.

YOUR PROFILE

You have experience in programming with Java and Scala. Preferably you are an experienced Data Engineer, having worked in a Hadoop environment and having experience with Spark. Whether you are an experienced Data Engineer or not, your passion for expanding your knowledge and new ways of working is key.

We believe that you are a person who understand complex issues and challenges. You like to solve problems with a systematic but still innovative approach. This role includes close contact with your team and other stakeholders, therefore we believe that you are a person with great communication skills who likes to cooperate with others.
