Senior Java Developer to Sandvik in Svedala/Malmö

We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our Digital Solutions team – a small, agile and inclusive crew with a start-up mentality, a knack for development and the will to have fun while exploring the tech of tomorrow. We operate close to both the business and our customers, solving real problems and making an actual impact on our digital offering. With us, you’re not just another behind-the-scenes developer, you’re at the core of decisions and help shape what we build.

As a Java Developer you’re part of a small cross functional DevOps team that develops and maintains a customer focused platform, consisting of a web interface and two native apps. We have a strong UX focus and work closely with our customers – considering both their feedback and our own past experiences – as we develop our digital offering. With our network and contacts spanning across the globe, you need to be open-minded, communicate fluently in English and understand some Swedish. It’s a plus if you speak any other languages. 

We build Microservices packaged as Docker containers, running in a Kubernetes cluster on Azure, and we also expose RESTful API’s secured with OAuth authentication. This means you need a lot of experience with modern versions of Java and Spring Framework. You’re involved in everything from design, architecture, delivery and follow-up and you explore how digital trends and emerging technologies can keep us one step ahead. Your focus is on backend development but we also give you the opportunity to dig into other areas or programming languages that might interest you – like web development with React.js, iOS development with Swift or Android development with Kotlin. 

We apply flexible working conditions, although your base is probably in the Malmö area as our headquarters is in Svedala. It’s up to you if you’re eager to travel and meet our global customers, or if you’d rather create your magic behind the desk.

As for skills, you bring experience and knowledge in the following areas:
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Java Developer
• Java and Spring (framework)
• Basic Linux/Unix knowledge
• Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, REST API, OAuth
• Databases like PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB or similar
• Test data management and mocking of external APIs
• The ability of continuous delivery
• Fluent in English and understand some Swedish
