Do you want to be a part of creating a more sustainable value chain for batteries? We are looking for a backend and infrastructure engineer on behalf of Nortical in central Gothenburg.

Nortical work to improve battery efficiency by analysing live battery data, compiling battery insights and giving advice on how to put them to better use in the future. The company are in the middle of creating a completely new value chain. As the world is electrifying, batteries are becoming the centrepiece of both existing and new business models and products.

You will be at the very centre of this change together with a diverse team of like-minded individuals, people who truly take an active role in shaping the future of electrification and how batteries will be used.

About the role

As Nortical are growing, their tech team need more helping hands for the development and maintenance of backend services and cloud infrastructure.

This is a role with a wide task distribution all over the stack, but since they build an API-centric product there is no particular need for frontend/web development experience. However, if you are a fullstack developer, you still have a good chance of filling the role requirements.

The tech team is small but shoulders a lot of responsibility, working autonomously with a great degree of freedom. This puts expectations on you to be self-propelled, curious, documentation-driven, and interested in automation. Being a startup, they often end up doing unexpected things, so an agile mindset is needed.

Key qualifications

• Modern backend service engineering e.g.

- Containerisation

- CI/CD

- Networking

- Serverless computing

- Variety of database solutions

- API design

- Microservices

• Cloud ops experience (ideally GCP)
• Comfortable with Typescript
• Enjoy functional programming
• Automation addict
• English - full professional level

Bonus skills

• Experience designing and running ML/data pipelines in production
• Excited about static typing
• Elixir/Erlang
• C/Rust embedded development
• Swedish speaker
