Senior Software Engineer (Application Engineering)

Description

As software engineer in the application engineering team, you are part of u-blox R&D organization and responsible for the efficient bringing to market of short-range radio products by supporting the first line support team (Field Application Engineers), in all aspects of resolution of technical problems as well as in pre-sales activities.

The function supports the improvement of existing products and the creation of new products by collecting and examination of market feedback and by analysis of competitive products. The efficiency of the application of our products is supported with the creation and maintenance of support tools and training of our Field Application Engineers and the Sales Staff in general.

Your Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of training materials and of design-in supporting documents for u-blox short range radio products
• Ensuring know-how exchange with the Field Application Engineers and the Product Development teams (issues, design recommendations, bugs, feature roadmap)
• Sample applications and perform feature demonstrations
• 2nd level support (escalation point of contact within R&D)
• Coordinate issue replication and resolution between our Field Application Engineering and product development teams
• Lead key customer design support upon Sales request
• Technical RMA analysis in collaboration with quality department

Your Skills and Experience

• University degree in electrical engineering or computer science (or equivalent)
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development
• Proficient in C programming of embedded, real-time system
• Independent and precise way of working
• Good analytical skills
• Collaborative and at ease with customer interaction
• Willingness to travel (after covid-19!) to customer sites and to events
• English written and spoken (company’s language)
• Holder of Swedish work permit

• Wireless knowledge in general and Bluetooth and WLAN and NFC knowledge in particular
• GCC, embedded debuggers (e.g. Lauterbach, ST-Link), MS Visual Studio
• Scripting languages (e.g. python)

• Communication interfaces like SDIO, SPI, I2C, UART, USB
