Our Exciting Opportunity

Business Unit Digital Services (BDGS) is in the midst of a transformation to a true cloud native and micro service paradigm. We in Design Systems & Environments (DSE) have the mission to develop and provide an outstanding Cloud Native Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline that can be used by all Product Development Units (PDU) to fast and flexible develop and deliver BDGS Products and Services to our customers.

We, the Cloud Native Software Flow program are looking for Senior Architects who will own, develop and maintain the CI Pipeline architecture and work closely with the product owners.

You will

  • Be part of Architect team responsible for architecture, design and system management of the pipeline
  • You will be leading and taking architectural and design decisions for the Pipeline in close collaboration with CNSF Product Owners and development teams, as well as architects and product leaders from the PDUs in BDGS and other Business Units
  • Translate use cases and requirements to architectural updates and break such down to tasks that can be executed by the development teams
  • Focus on architect and systemize the pipeline but also participate in the prototyping, design, test and deployment iterations together with the multi-functional development teams
  • Take interest in implement continuous improvements of the tool chain, and the processes in and around it.
  • Develop and evolve your competence in the technical fields around Continuous Integration and Cloud Native
  • Have fun crafting world class services together with your colleagues!

To be successful in the role you must have

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Good Business understanding of what characteristics a Pipeline needs to provide to be a true world class advantage for BDGS and Ericsson
  • Planning and Organizing abilities to plan the development of the Pipeline in collaboration with CNSF program manager, product owners and architects
  • Curiousness, open-mindedness, collaborative skills and perseverant team member skills and an eagerness to learn and have a can-do demeanor
  • A truly agile mind set by innovating, adapting, and responding to change
  • Ability to appreciate and build upon different, and often competing, points of view
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English

Technical Skills

  • Genuine interest and solid understanding of software system development, preferably within the area of the cloud native paradigm
  • Excellent knowledge within the area of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipeline systems as well as automation of such
  • Excellent ability to translate user needs to architectural updates
  • History of having made significant impact developing large software systems
  • Understanding of Spinnaker and Kubernetes is an advantage
  • Understanding of what utilizing and building on Open Source implies
  • Good knowledge of security and/or integrity in aspects of software systems is an advantage
  • Excellent programming skills in a general-purpose programming language (e.g. Python, Java)
