Trading software analyst

At Orc we are now looking for our next Trading Software Analyst to work with our customers on their day to day operations. Your day would involve solving customer issues in terms of functional requests of how various operations could be achieved as well as providing expertise in terms of system setup and configuration. A big part of the role is also centered on troubleshooting potential problems that a customer might encounter when running a complex system. You will in many ways act as a communicator in the layers between our customers, developers and product managers.

If you at any point in life might have bought a derivative such as an option on a listed company - you could very well have done so against an Orc system run by a mayor bank!

AS A TRADING SOFTWARE ANALYST YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
> Working directly with clients to implement key functionality - Setting up a solution to quote on a market, setting up volatility surfaces, delivering a solution for algo trading, etc.
> Troubleshooting complex trading systems ensuring clients are up and running and in the market wherever possible. Liaising with our engineering team on faults that require code changes.
> Liaising with our sales team on new deliveries and the delivery of them.
> Working directly with multiple exchanges on new functionality and market upgrades.
> General Customer Service Account Management for the clients.
> Spending time on trading floors to better understand our business, demonstrate new functionality and better diagnose system faults.
> Examine the solutions we provide to enhance performance.
> Implementation work including customizing our software to fit bespoke needs (this can include trading strategy development, pricing model work or integration with 3rd party systems through use of our APIs, for example).
> Potential requirement to travel to other offices, and customer sites particularly within Europe.
FOR THIS WE WOULD EXPECT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE:
> Master/Bachelor of Science degree in relevant field.
> Experienced IT user.
> Fascination with the financial markets.
> Motivated, intelligent, team player, stress resistant.
> Strong customer facing people skills.
> Strong analytical skills.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
> Experience from UNIX environments.
> Some knowledge of Java or C, C++ (even though the role is not a developer one).
> Familiarity with major financial markets and the products traded on them.
> Understanding of options pricing or knowledge of derivatives based trading.
