Your workday
You will belong to one of Fortum’s development teams, where you will be given the opportunity to combine the work as a traditional Java developer with the position of leader and coach for your colleagues in the team. You will participate in a number of different projects which can include all from 2-4 people to five whole teams working together. The developement operation itself will include whole life cycles, from requirement gathering to design, testing and deployment. You will report directly to the CTO, and you will have multiple interactions with the rest of the company. This includes a close collaboration with product owners and IT architects to ensure secure and scalable soltuions, services and applications. In addition, you will have a general responsability for both production and test environments.

Who are you?
We are looking for candidates with 5-10 years of experience in Java, and previous experience of leadership roles in development. As a Tech Lead, your work is mostly focused on backend development, but in order to function at your best in this role, we prefer that you know the full stack from backend to frontend. Experience in AWS and Kafka is also greatly valued. This is a great opportunity if you want to broaden your experience in APIs, noSQL and Jenkins, since you are going to use these techniques as well. Furthermore, we would like you to have some kind of degree in IT, and that you are fluent in both written and spoken English.

You have a genuine passion for technology and you enjoy working with agile and flexible methods. You perceive yourself as an outgoing person that can communicate about technology in a pedagogical and intelligible way. You are detail oriented, but can also look to the whole, and you are motivated by leading others and by delivering secure and qualitative solutions that will last in a long-time perspecitve.
