Design Technologist/UX Engineer

We are looking for a Design Technologist / UX Engineer with experience from mid-level to principal to join us at the Above Studio in Malmö.

What will you do?

As a Design Technologist / UX Engineer, you will be a key member of our interdisciplinary design x tech team that creates innovative solutions and great user experiences across digital & physical spaces. Your role will be to connect a deep understanding of technological opportunities with empathy for end customers – all to design intuitive, simple, and beautiful digital experiences that create real value. Experience in developing future-shifting concepts and exploring them through a mix of videos, experience prototypes, and functional prototypes are among the skills we are looking for.

• Explore concepts with a range of prototypes from UX videos to full production prototypes
• Work with our multi-disciplinary team to conceptualize, synthesize and communicate, ideas, insights, and solutions
• Collaborate with our user research team to generate user insights with prototypes as stimuli in testing
• Work with our creative engineers and clients to transition products from concept to product
• Build tools that help us explore new interfaces and design spaces together

About you

At Above, we develop experiences that span across digital and physical touch-points. You should thrive in the design process, and be comfortable with code as well as a soldering iron – but most importantly you should be curious about learning new tools and skills. That being said, a background in a field like creative coding, video production, fabrication, embedded development, game development, machine learning, robotics (or something similar) would be a big plus.
